Someone Ran Head On Into Police Cruiser

A driver going the wrong-way crashed into a police cruiser in Gaithersburg, Maryland Monday evening, Montgomery County police said.

The crash occurred at 10 p.m. Monday night at the intersection of North Frederick Avenue and Chestnut Street, according to police.

Both vehicles were left with major front-end damage.

Neither the officer of the driver were hurt. Charges are pending for the driver.

Six Mail Carriers In Washington, DC Area Robbed

According to WUSA9, the USPS has reported six robberies of mail carriers within 24 hours, all held at gun point. The first alleged crime took place in the 7400 block of Holly Ave in Takoma Park, MD around 1p.m.; when two people approached the USPS worker and demanded the carrier hand over everything. Before the worker got away, he was assaulted by the two criminals, leaving him with minor injuries. The other five robberies spanned between DC, Columbia MD and Montgomery County, all within an hour radius.

Anyone with tips and leads on the crimes should contact Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455. There is a reward of up to $50K for any info leading to the identities of the suspects.
