Believe it or not, Chris Smith used to date social media influencer B. Simone, and she’s vocal about her sadness after Smith’s passing.

During the time of his death, Chris Smith was reportedly playing for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL. For those unaware, the XFL, or “Xtreme Football League,” was purchased by actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and RedBird Capital investment group in 2020. The 31-year-old’s move to the XFL was seen as him trying to resurrect his career in football.

Prior to his move to the XFL, Smith played for numerous teams in the NFL. Notably, Smith started off playing with the high school team West Rowan before continuing college football at Arkansas. Following that, Chris was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft.

Chris Smith’s Children Have Lost Both Their Parents

In 2019, Smith’s longtime girlfriend Petara Cordero, 26; also mother of his child was struck by a drunk driver and killed. The couple encountered a flat tire on Interstate 90 in Cleveland when the tragedy took place. The unfortunate accident came about just 4 weeks after the birth of their daughter, Haven Harris Smith.

According to Smith and Cordero’s baby registry, the couple’s baby daughter was due on August 17. Instagram posts from both Cordero and Smith indicate that their baby, named Haven Harris Smith, was born on or around August 27. No child should have to bury both parents. Condolences to the Smith family and especially his children.

Glenn Foster Autopsy Comes Back Horrific

Former NBA player Glenn Foster died while in the hands of Alabama police. However, Foster’s family is furious and doesn’t believe the police are innocent. The autopsy showed the former Saint defense showed no signs of strangulation.

Foster was arrested Dec. 4, 2021 after a speeding violation that included an attempt to run away from the officers.

In the wake of Foster’s death, the family retained civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump to handle the case.

Soon after being retained by the family, Crump claimed an independent autopsy revealed “evidence of strangulation.”

The attorneys called the autopsy findings “deeply concerning” and demanded a full and transparent investigation into what happened.

Days before Foster’s death he was arrested and booked in the Pickens County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police and resisting arrest, inmate records show.

He was released at 3:14 p.m. on Dec. 5 but was rebooked two minutes later on charges of simple assault and third-degree robbery. Authorities have not said what led to Foster being rebooked.

Attorneys for his family said the initial arrest on Dec. 4 stemmed from a speeding violation. He died two days later after being found unresponsive in the back of a police vehicle after arriving at a medical facility, they said.

New Light Has Been Shared on social media Regarding Injured Black Players in the NFL

Seemingly however, there’s been a spark in rage regarding medical attention and people of color in the NFL. Additionally, in 2020 two retired players sued and accused the franchise of “explicitly and deliberately” discriminating against hundreds; if not thousands of Black players who filed dementia-related claims. Despite the abuse, the inequality makes it harder for them to qualify for payouts worth as much as $3 million. Apparently, the issue was highlighted within the NBA. And that’s a problem. In two legal actions filed in 2020 in United States District Court in Philadelphia, the players asked that the judge stop the league from insisting that race-based benchmarks be used to evaluate players’ claims. They also asked that the scores on Black players’ neurocognitive exams be recalculated using “race-neutral” scales that would put them on an even footing with white players.

According to the Associated Press, players can now add a million dollars or more to their concussion claims if denied initially.
