21-Yr. Old Woman Asia Womack Killed By A Friend For Beating Him In A B-ball Game

According to New York Post, a young Black woman named Asia Womack, 21 was gunned down by a close friend. Murder suspect Cameron Hogg killed Asia out of anger over losing a pick-up basketball game to Womack. Shortly after the tradgedy, she was transported to a nearby hospital. But unfortunately, the known neighborhood athlete was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival, according to Dallas Police. Womack gained notoriety from being a member of her high school basketball team at James Madison.

“This was supposed to be a friend of Asia’s. She’s eaten with the man,” Asia’s mother Andrea Womack told local Dallas station Fox 4 News. “She’s fed him, and he turned on her and killed her in a vicious way.”

The alleged shooter took his kids and brother home before coming back to the park and shooting Asia five times, the station reported. A nearby surveillance camera possibly captured his car speeding away.

“But this is so senseless,” pastor John Delley told Fox 4. “You become embarrassed, basically because a female beat you in basketball.”

Womack’s aunt, Juanita Smith, told NBC 5 that she was finding it hard to comprehend why someone would do this to her niece. “We’re taking it kind of hard because it was senseless,” Smith said.

“I just don’t understand why you kill somebody over a basketball game,” Smith told the outlet. “I believe in forgiveness, but justice needs to be served.”
