During a three set thriller, Serena Williams beat Annet Kontaveit on Wednesday night.

During the second round of the US Open, the NAACP Award winning athlete knocked out the second seed in the second round inside a packed Ashe Stadium. Anne Kontaveit is an Estonian professional tennis player. She comes in right behind Serena Williams as world No. 2 by the Women’s Tennis Association. However in Estonian history, she ranks highest.
“It’s no rush here (to leave),” Williams said after the match. “There’s still a little left in me.”
Many stars were on hand to attend Williams’ final tournament, from Tiger Woods to Zendaya, something Kontaveit wasn’t expecting.
After the loss, Kontaveit took to Instagram to express how wild the entire night was.
“One day ur in Soho drinking boba with ur mum the next day ur playing tennis against Serena in front of Zendaya. Life is crazy,” she wrote, along with a montage of pictures from her time in New York City.
The 40-year-old Williams looked to be in top form. She finished with 11 aces, she won on her first serve 73 percent of the time, and she took points from Kontaveit on 31 percent of her opponent’s first serves.
She will face unseeded Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia, the world’s No. 46-ranked player, in the third round Friday.
