With no water and no air conditioning in an abandoned tractor trailer, at least 40 migrants passed away in San Antonio. The bodies were discovered Sunday June 27 on a remote back road near railroad tracks.
Three people have been arrested as suspects; while the investigation is now in the hands of the Department of Homeland Security.
How Were They Found
According to Police Chief William McManus, a city worker heard cries of help coming from the truck; a little before 6 p.m.on Monday; before coming in contact with the horrifying scene.
Moreover, KSAT new station reported that ‘officers and first responder’s were walking the tracks with thermal imaging cameras to find any possible survivors who may have fled.’

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said the 46 who died had “families who were likely trying to find a better life.”
“This is nothing short of a horrific human tragedy,” Nirenberg said.
