Such a tragedy earlier this month when award winning artist and actress Traci Braxton passed away at age 50. Braxton battled cancer for a year before she lost the battle to esophageal cancer.
Tuesday on the Tamron Hall Show; Toni Braxton walks down memory lane; talking about how much she misses her sister “everyday.” She reveals how the passing of her sister “still feels like a dream”.
Even though the singing sisters had their deep rooted issues they were thick as thrives and loved each other fiercely.
I wake up every morning and go, ‘Did I dream it? Did I dream it?’ and I have to remind myself; ‘No, she’s gone; but she’s been here with us for 50 years,’” she told Hall.tamron hall show
She added, “So; I try to relish in that moment; and try to smile about it; and just be grateful for the time you have; you have to always remember to be kind to one another.”
Toni wasn’t the only sister who mourned publicly for Traci. Tamar posted some lyrics from a Muni Long song on March 13:The lyrics said, “I wish I had a time machine.” In addition to the clip, the singer, who appeared to be at a loss for words, simply wrote alongside a heartbroken emoji, “My Dear Traci, come back.”
As the sisters try to move forward in loving memory of their sister though, it seems they feel there’s a roadblock to their healthy grieving process. The sisters claim that Traci’s husband and manager are exploiting Traci’s death.
“Traci did not want a funeral or wake. She did not want people looking all over her body. She specifically requested to be immediately cremated… There was a Zoom meeting that made it clear about what she wanted, and now her husband is trying to cash in on her name,” a Braxton insider told Page Six.
Nevertheless, Toni Braxton told Tamron Hall that Traci was hopeful all the way until the end, fighting like the warrior was was.
