According to ABC 12, two teenaged brothers named Alejandro and Christian Trevino — along with a family member; are being charged with murder. The brothers allegedly took their anger out immediately on a man who sexually abused their 9 year old sister; leaving him to die in a field. Honestly, can you blame them?
During a news conference in January; Harvey said the Trevino brothers and Melendez beat Quintanilla several times over the course of one night; after the Trevinos’ younger half-sister made an outcry about being inappropriately touched by Quintanilla at an RV park.
“When brothers (Alejandro) and Christian Trevino found out; they became enraged and confronted Gabriel Quintanilla at the residence. A physical fight ensued between the three and the victim; Quintanilla, left the location on foot,” according to a news release from the Pharr Police Department.

Since then, the Melendez incurred a smuggling-of-persons charge; organized criminal activity; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and possession of marijuana charges. On top of that, his murder charge was upgraded to a capital murder charge; with his bond exceeding $1.5 million.
Charges Were Changed
Christian, originally charged in January with aggravated assault; murder and engaging in organized criminal activity; has also had his murder charge upgraded to capital murder. Moreover, his bond amounts originally exceeded $1 million; but now court records show his total bond amount was decreased to $150,000.
Nonetheless, since Quintanilla was technically kidnapped; the charge was upgraded to a capital murder charge. To make matters worse, Quintanilla also had his jewelry stolen before he was dumped in the field.
Lastly, Alejandro has not had any changes to his charges of engaging in organized criminal activity and aggravated assault. However his bond also appears to have been lowered, based on court records, from $1 million to $150,000.
