According to NBC 4 News, a Detroit mother finally admitted it wasn’t the robber she lied about shooting her daughter it was actually her.
The shooting took place Friday around 3 p.m. in the 6500 block of Brush Street, according to Detroit police.
At First the Detroit Mother Lied
The mother initially told officers she was almost robbed. She claimed that someone started shooting outside her after unsuccessfully trying to snatch her purse. Adding the untruth that the said robber shot her daughter twice. All the while, it was actually the mom [her]. The victim was in critical condition at a hospital, officials said Friday. However, the child is recovering.
Police Chief James White confirmed the story was false on Friday afternoon. According to White, the child was hit in the leg and in the arm.
