A devastating fire erupted in a New York apartment building Sunday, killing at least 17 people, including 9 children. The fire rapidly spread throughout the building in the Bronx allegedly from a space heater. The city is in shock, behind the grief and pain of New Yorkers who, some have lost their entire families. 200 firefighters rushed to the duplex apartment bldg. on the third floor of a high-rise building, located in the Tremont section of the Bronx, officials said.
“During the tragedy we are going to be here for each other”, a New York official Kathy Hochul said during the news press conference.
“We are indeed a city in shock. It’s impossible to go into that room where scores of family are in such grief, who are in pain. To see it in a mother’s eyes, as I held her; who lost her entire family”, said Governor Kathy Hochul.abc news
