Andy Cohen Got the Boot From CNN

Andy Cohen normally covers CNN’s New Year’s Eve show. However, he went viral recently for giving a tongue-lashing to Ryan Seacrest and Bill de Blasio during his hosting on CNN‘s New Year’s Eve celebration. Thus, rumors began to spread that he had been fired from the network over the controversy. During the New Year’s Eve broadcast, Cohen jeered: “Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers that are performing behind us. I mean, with all due [respect], if you’ve been watching ABC tonight, you’ve seen nothing. I’m sorry.” He told his radio audience he believes these quotes are being taken out of context and reflect worse without tone and inflection.

Here’s What He Had to Say About His Gripe with Ryan Seacrest

“The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy,” the host, 53, said on his Andy Cohen Live Sirius XM show on Monday, January 3. “And I really regret saying that, and I was just stupid and drunk and feeling it.”

The rumors about the TV personality being fired are false, though, says a spokesperson from CNN who confirmed that the talk show host will return for 2022.

In a statement published by E! News, a CNN spokesperson said: “Andy said something he shouldn’t have on live TV. We’ve addressed it with him and look forward to having him back again next year.”

The “Watch What Happens Live” Host Says He is Going to Party Even Harder

“I just want you to know Anderson and I are going to party harder than we have ever partied before on New Year’s Eve!” he shouted. “Do you understand me!” According to Variety, CNN’s CEO Chris Licht told employees “he felt on-camera drinking eroded the credibility of CNN personnel. And damaged the ‘respectability’ they may enjoy among viewers.”

Even though the Bravo executive says folks are exaggerating the network’s new rules. As a result, the network plans to cut down the on-air drinking. Contrarily though, while speaking on his drunken plans, the radio host jokingly said “sayonara” to his sobriety on NYE.
