Gabrielle Union took her once in a lifetime opportunity by the horns. She left no crumbs. Ate it up. From the bouncing bay yang to the braces…. Gabrielle Union paid homage to the one and only Tootie from Facts Of Life, a hit sitcom in the 80’s. And one of my personal faves I might add.
“Tonight I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to honor the QUEEN @kimfieldsofficial and her iconic role of Tootie on Facts Of Life. As Black girls growing up in the 1980s we had very few role models on TV and film, but we had Kim. Thank you for leading and showing us how amazing we actually are. Please show love and praise to the ICON KIM FIELDS.”

Union was joined by Kathryn Hahn, Allison Tolman, Kerry Washington, Will Arnett, Jennifer Aniston; Kevin Hart and John Lithgow for the third installment of Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience. The special ABC event featured reenactments of episodes from the popular 1980s sitcoms, The Facts of Life and Different Strokes. These were some of the best nostalgic shows in that era, and even still today.
The ‘Deliver Us From Eva‘ actress is an 80’s baby herself, so this was a golden opportunity to re-live a tender peice of childhood. About eight years ago, both Kim Fields and Lisa Welchel (who played Tootie and Blair on The Facts Of Life together); got a chance to be on the screen again when they both played in a Hallmark movie, “For Better Or For Worse”.
