Norwegian Cruise lines are being hit hard with COVID cases everyday. And it doesn’t help that the new variant, Omicron is skyrocketing ubiquitously. Back in December, it was a shock when 10 covid cases were discovered on the ship. However, currently there are 19 COVID surges discovered on one of the ships.
Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels Voyages On 15 Ships Amid COVID-19 Surge
The cruise line has canceled upcoming voyages on fifteen of its ships; a move that comes after two of its ships reportedly either returned to port early this week or had to cancel travel plans at the last minute due to COVID-19.
Norwegian cited “ongoing travel restrictions” for the decision; which affect sailings scheduled in the U.S. and abroad until as late as April.
“Our first priority is the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we visit,” the company, which has a total of 28 ships, said in a statement Wednesday.
Norwegian Cruise Line Will Issue A Refund
The most impactful ports come out of Florida, however. Moreover, if you should need to cancel your flight or the flight is cancelled/delayed more than 24 hours due to COVID protocol; you are entitled to a refund within 180 days. Same goes for the cruiseships.
