After a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) was announced on Friday night for the parents of the Michigan school shooter; they were finally obtained Saturday morning. The discovery happened about two hours after a bystander observed the Crumbley’s vehicle and called police; which was found around 11:30 p.m. Friday near the Canadian border. After that, authorities ultimately located the couple in the basement of a building in Detroit. They’re both facing up to 15 years in prison.
“Yes, they are both in custody and will on the way to the Oakland County Jail soon”, said Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe. “Kudos to Detroid PD and all the other agencies that assisted”.

First and foremost on Friday, Jennifer and James Crumbley were charged with four counts of involuntary man slaughter each. So they were aware of the instructions to return to the appropriate area to be arraigned; according to the couples lawyers. Conversely, however, they never showed up for it.
Prosecutor Karen McDonald Announced The Charges Friday
Prosecutor Karen McDonald stated the charges Friday morning, “The investigation into the school incident at Oxford High School; which occured on November 30 2021; has revealed that James Crumbley purchased a 6 hr 9mml model SP2022 from Acme Shooting Goods in Oxford Michigan on November 26 2021”.
She goes on to say, “A store employee confirms that Ethan Crumbley was present with James at the time of the purchase. For statute, James Crumbley completed ATF Form 5300 9-A. On or about November 26,2021 Ethan Crumbley social media posts revealed photos of the semi automatic handgun along with the caption, ‘Just got my new beauty today’ including an emoji with hearts. ‘Six hour 9 mml, any questions I will answer’.
Subsequent to the purchase of that weapon one of Jennifer Crumbley’s social media posts read on about 11/27/21 read “Mom and Son Day testing out his new Christmas present”.
She continues, “On November 21,2021 a teacher at the Oxford High School observed Ethan Crumbley searching ammunition on his cell phone during class, and reported the same to school officials. Jennifer Crumbley was contacted via voice mail by school personnel regarding the sons inappropriate internet search”.
Following, the search kicked off directly after the charges were brought down on The Crumbley’s; hence the BOLO since they never turned themsevles into authorities.
There Were Red Flags and The Crumbley’s Were Allegedly Aware
Law enforcement confirmed the parents were aware of the red flags Ethan had been exhibiting. Since the Crumbley’s met with school officials about their son’s behavior and mental health just hours before the shootings took place. On the other hand, the teenaged sophomore made similar threats in a journal found in his backpack. Currently, besides facing multiple gun charges, he’s facing terrorism charges. This entire family just ruined their lives. Really sad.
“The action of fleeing and ignoring their attorney certainly adds weight to the
charges,” Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said in a statement. “They cannot run from their part in this tragedy.” Well hopefully authorities stick to their word. Not letting him or them run from their part in this tragedy. We’ve seen it far too many times where privileged get favor they shouldnt get. Right is right and wrong is wrong. The laws should made to protect all, not the ‘randomly selected’.
Is This A Pattern?
Previously, Kyle Rittenhouse was able to get away with killing two innocent people becasue of self defense; and it seems like the Crumbley’s were going to try and follow Rittenhouse’s lead. Hopefully purchasing weapons like this will be banned, clearly it’s a problem; which is why, in most states there is an age requirement to even handle firearms. Furthermore, why was it ok for this parent to give a gun to a 15 year old? Play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Period. Enough is enough. Let’s do better America.
