Recently, New York is on the radar as one of the best places to find rats. Huge ones, small ones, all kinds. According to urban legend, there’s five times more rats than people in the Big Apple.

The pesty rodents emit disease through their saliva and waste. Not to mention, eating food and trash, thus contaminating that as well. The Big Apple landed third place on the list of most rat infested cities in America. Chicago beat with a first place and Los Angeles slides in at #2. In October the city received over 21,000 calls reporting rat sightings, doubling last year’s reports.

Rats Make It Hard To Catch Them Since They Have No Bones
Trying to catch a rat is like attempting to drive with blinders on. They have the innate ability to run through any size hole because they are spineless. They don’t have a skull, they can tread pretty much any amount of water, all while being able to leap as far as 4 feet.

“I just saw a rat when we were walking down to the park, and it was still daylight,” one New Yorker said. “And I was like, damn, that’s audacious.” https://t.co/mYqhxoSPSZ pic.twitter.com/8X8wz8PGC6
