BRONX,N.Y.-Auntie has really spiced up the ‘cousins’ holidays. Congresswoman Maxine Waters excitedly co-signed a bill validating November as National Hip Hop month.

The no nonsense congresswoman has named August 11 Hip Hop Celebration Day; in honor of the original hip hop party that took place that day in 1973.
A unique antiquity of this groundbreaking epoch is the Universal Hip Hop Museum launching it’s KNOW YA HIP HOP’ History month campaign.
Hip Hop makes history this month, garnering a national nod; this massive cultural force has been the pillar of African Americans, Latino Americans and Caribbean Americans in the Bronx, New York City.
What Is Hip Hop
It’s been the bread to our butter. Because its’ brought us through some tough times and given us something to talk about. Some of our greatest artists have been hip hop artists.
Not only is it amazing that today, in 2021, we still pay such great homage to Hip Hop.
In the mid nineties, when hip hop came along, it was a new vibe,uplifting and full of light. A genre with catchy beats that move your soul, with words that were about love, street, and just all around real life. Youhear about hip hop in movies, documentaries, tv shows, podcasts and more. Hip hop was a wind that swept through your bedroom nightstand box radio, your dormrooms light up speaker. Rap music showed us that there was another world, where we could feel good. Relatable to some, but others may have associated hip hop with a bad rap but hip hop is a feeling, a beat, and a tune.
Yet, some artist sang about love, and others gave streetlife. That’s what it gave. And boy o boy did it give what it was supposed to had gave.
Some of our most influential hip hop artists have transitioned on like 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, Bushwick Bill, and Nipsey Hussle.
Not only is it amazing that today, in 2021, we still pay such great homage to Hip Hop. It’s brought us through some tough times and given us something to talk about.
Some of our greatest and most ingriguing conversations have been centered around hip hop. Not to mention the tv franchise, Love & Hip Hop. Clearly, it’s given us something to stand for. Maxine Waters is the G.O.A.T.
