Ex-Tesla Employee Gets Pay Day From Elon Musk

Elon Musk seems to love a courtroom, for one reason or another. Recently, he’s had three lawsuits against him. More recently, however, a former employee just got awarded a huge payout from Tesla Inc.

Due to racial abuse, and enabling hate laced behaior, Elon Musk’s Fremont plant must now pay up. They are being accused of operating a slavelike work environment. Owen Diaz was employeed as an elevator operator at Tesla Inc.’s San Fran Bay Area factory.

On Monday, he was awarded $6.9 in damages for emotional distress and $130 million in punitive damages, according to his attorney, Lawrence A. Organ.

And so, a federal jury agreed that Tesla was negligent in protecting Mr. Diaz from the harassment he endured. Not only did he endure the verbal abuse, he alleged “the employees drew swastikas and left racist graffiti and drawings around the plant”. Thus, accusing the supervisors of turning a blind eye to the hostile work environment.

Owen Diaz claimed that he was verbally abused and faced “faily racist epthets”. Including the “N” word, Diaz was called all sorts of racist slurs during the year 2015, just before quitting in 2016.

It’s appalling that these billion dollar business moguls exhibit such a contrast to the exposed character.

“It took four long years to get to this point. It’s like a big weight has been pulled off my shoulders”, he told NY Times.
