It’s been a tough year for the King of R & B. First he loses Bobbi Kristina, then he loses his son. Bobby Brown, Jr. , the son of Kim Ward and Bobby Brown, Sr. was found dead in Los Angeles home at the age of 28 in November. Los Angeles police spokesman Jeff Lee told CNN that LAPD responded to a medical emergency call, November 18 at 1:50 p.m. local time. He also made it clear at the time that there was no suspicion of “foul play”.
‘Upon officer’s arrival there was a person down at the location’, Lee confirmed per the LA Times.
However, in a statement provided to People magazine, Brown and Ward maintain that their 28 year old son was not into drugs and believe that someone provided them to him and led to his overdose. Brown and Ward’s attorney Christopher Brown also alleges that Brown, Jr. may have taken the fentanyl “without his knowledge and that his parents “believe it killed him”.
“Bobby was often easily influenced. This is a situation where he associated himself with the wrong people. My son is gone and those who contributed to his senseless death should be accountable”, Ward said.
She continued, “My family continues to mourn my son’s death . Street fentanyl has take the life of so many people unnecessarily and Bobby Jr. is another victim . This epidemic is out of control and those supplying this lethal drug should be held responsible for the death and destruction that it causes”.
According to TMZ, the family said he hadn’t been feeling well leading up to the days of his death, with flu like symptoms. TMZ reported that sources revealed he did not have COVID.
