Mackenzie Scott, the ex wife of Jeff Bezos( Amazon’s CEO) is living her best life. She’s not only Bezos’ ex wife, but she’s also a philanthropist, and well obviously….a billionaire. Starting over in life aint always no crystal stair. But Scott makes it look like a cake walk as she’s just re married to a Dan Jewett, a science teacher. Being a native of Seattle, he taught chemistry at the same private school where Scott’s kids attended.
To be frank, the American novelist has obviously met her match in ‘giving’. Her husband announced their nuptials on their philanthropist website, The Giving Pledge. The website is for billionaires to donate chunks of their wealth to philanthropic causes.
The ‘giving groom’ has already declared that he intends to give away most of their wealth to charity.
Mackenzie Scott’s Giving
Last July, Scott donated $1.68 billion to 116 nonprofits, universities, community development groups and legal organizations. Not to mention, she coordinated assistance to aid in her “acceleration” to help to those financially strained by the pandemic. Scott is the recipient of the American Book Award.
Additionally, she donated a total of $5.7 billion in 2020 by asking community leaders to identify 512 organizations for seven- and eight-figure gifts, including food banks, human-service organizations, and racial-justice charities.
She was listed as No. 2 among the 50 Americans who gave the most to charity last year, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s annual rankings. She is also the recipient of the American Book Award.
“I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know- and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others“, Jewett wrote. Congrats to the lovely couple!
