Mariah came out with a new book to outline her experiences in the entertainment industry. So you know its some tea being spilled. TMZ reported that Carey gave up some juicy deets about a sexual encounter between her and Derek Jeter.
Derek Sanderson Jeter is a former professional baseball player who is also biracial, a sentiment both he and Mariah shared that bonded them according to the Don’t Forget About Us Hitmaker. She claims they began to spend time with one another, but decided to keep it on the hush. She describes sharing a “warm, intoxicating kiss with the athlete on his roof one night. But they didn’t take it further for the sake of her marriage at the time. However as soon as the ink dried on the divorce papers she couldn’t get catch a flight to Florida fast enough to get to Derek.
” Everything was so new and sweet, down to the smooth texture of his honey-dipped skin. It was how it was supposed to feel”, according to TooFab. According to TMZ, Mariah says Derek is the second guy that she had slept with, up until that point in her life.
“Tommy was furious when I cut the strings he used to manipulate me”, she said. She continued, ” There was no way he would allow me to have a huge success after leaving him and Sony. He was not going to let me or Glitter shine”. She alludes to the forever long beef she’s had with Jennifer Lopez, involving herself with the creation of Loverboy, which included a sample of the song Firecracker by Yellow Magic Orchestra. While Mariah doesn’t name Lopez, she says that Sony rushed to use this sample on a single for “another artist”.
To add more fuel to the fire, Carey alleges she and Ja Rule worked on a song together, before Tommy allegedly called up his manager Irv Gotti, requesting a collab between the two for the same female entertainers record- leaving me to scurry and remake the song”. She goes on to say, “And after all that shit, ‘Loverboy’ ended being the best-selling single of 2001 in the United States”. She then closes the chapter with “I’m real”.
She goes on to admit that the difference between her first husband and Nick ( her second husband) was that “the power dynamics between us felt even”. “Honestly, I think Nick and I could have worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions for inflamed”, she said. ” It was tough. We both wanted to make sure everything was cool for our family. We will always be family, and we make it work”.
