Blu Ivy is the poster child for the definition of Black Girl Magic…to say the least. Shes the busiest seven-year-old you know. Trust me. She’s proven that can she can forge her own way in showbiz.
On The Lion King album, The Lion King: The Gift, Blue Ivy wrote a song on that she also sung entitled, ‘ Brown Skin Girl’. And it’s become every Brown girls’ anthem across the world.
Furthermore, the song was the breakout track on her mom’s curated The Lion King: The Gift album, released in July to go along with the live action remake of the classic Disney film. Queen Bey and hubby, HOV are also credited as songwriters for the track. It should be noted Blue Ivy sings on the track, which also includes Nigerian singer Wizkid and Saint Jhn, who also share the award with the Carter’s.
Undoubtedly serving as an ode to brown skinned girls and women everywhere, the lyrics of “Brown Skin Girls” soothe the souls of brown girls all around the world.
