Congratulations are in order for The Pink Friday album star. The yung money protege just got hitched to music executive Kenneth “Zoo” Petty. Minaj announced the exciting news on Monday with a video on Instagram, showing matching “Mr. and MRs.” mugs and black and white baseball caps that had “Bride” and “Groom” written across the front.
On August 12, the Super Bass rapper revealed that she had filed for a marriage license and would be married in 80 days.
“We still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again,” she explained. “From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days.”
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now,” she said at the time. “We’ll do the big wedding later.”
Nicki had previously dated Meek Mill and Safaree. She went public with dating Petty about a year ago on her Instagram. Some fans had criticized their relationship due to Kenneth’s past dealings with the law. But she’s defended her man, even though he’s been convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1995, and years later, he was also convicted of manslaughter and served seven years in prison, according to TMZ reports.
“He was 15, she was 16…in a relationship,” Minaj defended him on Instagram referring to his 1995 conviction. “But go awf, internet. ya’ll cant run my life. Ya’ll cant even run ya’ll own life. Thank you boo.”
On her Queen Radio show in July, Minaj passionately spoke about their relationship. “When a person is with a n*** that loved them before they had a dime in their pocket?” she asked. “How do you not understand that?”
“How do you not understand happiness versus clout?” she continued. “How f**cking dare you talk about lowering standards… It’s the truth, money cannot buy me happiness and good sex”.
Back in September, Nicki tweeted that she was putting the mic down for good by Tweeting, “I’ve chosen to retire and have my family”. She added a note to her followers, asking them “to keep reppin me, do it til da death of me {x} in the box – cuz aint nobody checkin me” – a reference to her collaboration with Alicia Keys on a remix of the singer’s hit, “Girl On Fire”. Looks Nicki wasn’t playing. She is getting her family. And we at hidden agenda wish you nothing but the best.
