Drake Hurt Behind ‘Daddy Wasn’t There’ Rebuttal Response

Apparently Aubrey Graham AKA [award winning rapper]; Drake is not the only one out here with Daddy issues…right? We all have skeletons in our closets, issues that need resolving in our family dynamic. And clearly Drake is not excluded when it comes to…well….life.

Recently, Drake’s father, Dennis Graham was invited as a guest on Power 106 Nick Cannon Morning Show. It was on the show where Cannon addressed the discord between Mr. Graham and his son, Drake. Regardless, here is what he had to say, “I had a conversation with Drake about that. I have always been with Drake. I talk to him if not every day, every other day and we really got into a deep conversation about that”.

He continues, ” I said to Drake, why are you saying all this different stuff about me, man like this is not cool. He god, ‘Dad it sells records,’ and I said, “OK well cool”. Graham accredits himself for Drakes love for music, claiming he is the one exposed his son to the arts. “I showed him that side of life, said Graham. “He’s always been around music. My family is all about music. My uncle Willie Mitchell discovered Al Green.  …. I took Drake with me and I used to let him shake tambourines with me on stage. That instills something in a child”.

Drake Says His Dad Abandoned He And His Mom

Moreover, Graham reportedly left Drakes mom when he was five years old and was allegedly absent from Drake’s childhood because of the parental split. “I look forward to being a better father for the children that I have,” said Drake in a 2013 interview.

As well as that, when Graham interviewed with Nick Cannon on his morning show, Cannon’s heart strings were tugged on during the show. Cannon claims his dad, too was an absentee parent.  Furthermore, Cannon told Graham, “Even like my dad who’s one of my guys right now, one of my closest friends, there would be six months I wouldn’t speak to my dad as a kid growing up,” Cannon explained.

“He lived in North Carolina and I lived out here on the West. As a grown man, ’cause I’m a  father myself now, I understand where my dad was coming from”. “He probably wanted to be there,” Nick says. “But he had other children, he was trying to become the man that he is today”.

Nick Cannon and his ex wife, 5 Grammy Award Winning Mariah Carey, share two children together. Since then, the television host has sown his royal oats quite generously, with now seven children altogether; from two other women making a total of three women. And subsequently Drake just has one son, Adonis Graham, who was born in 2017.
