At the crack of dawn -n-yawnin, on Wednesday morning; supporters of Cyntoia Brown rejoiced at the news of her long awaited release from prison. But now the sex trafficking survivor’s second chance at life has been overshadowed by concerns about her new husband.The 31- year old was convicted in 2004 and served more than 15 years behind bars for killing the 43 year old Nashville real estate agent who paid to have sex with her outside a fast food restaurant.
She was allegedly a teenage prostitute who gained national attention when celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna spoke up about her case on social media. She was granted clemency eight months ago by Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and released last week. While in prison, Brown tied the knot with Christian rapper and ex-Pretty Ricky member Jamie Long. 
The marriage appeared to be confirmed in a series of Instagram posts on Long’s account that create a collage showing the couple smiling and gazing into each other’s eyes. In the photo, it’s been noted that Brown is dressed in a white dress and has diamond rings on her left ring finger.
Pam Long From The Group ‘Total’ Has Words for Cyntoia
But before the public could wrap their minds around the nuptials or send the newlyweds well wishes, Long’s ex-wife, Pam Long from 90’s R & B group Total, issued a warning to Brown about who she’s really dealing with. According to reports, he and Pam married in 2013 and divorced in 2018.
But this is really a serious matter. Cyntoia is someone’s daughter, and her husband is someone’s son. However, should Cyntoia take the advice of the ex-wife? After all, there is nothing wrong with leading with caution in a new relationship, right?
“This man is diabolical and he is such a manipulator,” the singer said of her former husband who she was married to for five years. “The way this man pursued this woman is the way he did me.”Pam Long was the lead singer in the 90’s R&B trio, Total.
She also alleges that while Long claimed to be “a Christian artist”, he’d verbally alluded to her in the past that he only got close to Brown due to her newfound fame and the amount of money he projected she would garner upon her release.”May the Lord God protect her and her money,” she continued. “It’s about who she is in the public eye and what she has. By her having this face in the media it helps him to have a chance to be around what he deems as the elites.”
What Cyntoia Brown Is Doing Currently
Brown is ‘booked n busy’ living in Nashville with her husband, telling her story through her memoir, Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System,which was scheduled to be published on October 15 and expected to be a bestseller. In April 2020, a documentary was aired on Netflix called Murder to Mercy: The Cyntoia Brown Story.
Priced at $26, the 288-page memoir is based on her writings in prison during her 15 year bid. It’s not like she wasn’t used to being busy anyway…because while doing her 15 year sentence, she earned two degrees; counseled other inmates and started the GLITTER (Grassroots Learning Initiative on Teen Trafficking, Exploitation and Rape) Project. As far as Brown’s safety and privacy goes, her lawyer has declined at this time. Let’s keep our sista in our prayers.
“I think about this day all the time. The day I fot my life back. I used to lay in my prison cell dreaming about this and where I am today. I am just so grateful,” Brown-Long said in an exclusive interview with Knox News.
